Nine Days and Counting….
Oh, so much to tell! I’ll start with the most incredible news…we are designing fabric for our fabulous friends at Clothworks! Our biggest dream has come true!
What? Really?
YES! It’s true!
Does Champagne bubble? Yes! Do cows moo? Yes! Do Lynnette and Laura design fabric?
YES!
Pour the champagne! Dance in the cow pasture! Get out your checkbooks…………..okay, not quite yet, it’s due in stores around July 2011, but we can toast and dance all we want until then! We are over the moon excited to be fabric designers! It gives me thrills to type that statement!
Can’t show pictures yet, but know when we get to spill the beans we’ll be doing some very fun giveaways! I will tell you that I love to describe it as “Beachy Floral”. Can’t wait to share!
Ahem, now down to nuts and bolts. Laura and I are heading to market in nine days in Houston. Leaving everyone else at home – dear husbands, dogs, kids - (Chase will be visiting while I’m gone all the way from Wyoming – so I guess I should say “Kid” or young man).
We basically meet the most wonderful people while there ……….quilters! We get to hang out with all of our friends like the Clothworks fabulous bunch, Darlene, and all of our quilt store friends, former neighbors at market, friends we’ve connected with….you name it – it’s all fun!
Oh, and I will be talking about floor mats at Schoolhouse. EEEEE – that part makes me a little nervous because it could be a conference room full of people – yikes! Or not, okay, that is worse! The great news is I know my stuff and I can talk about floor mats in my sleep because I have made a zillion! I love them! They are so much fun!
I am going to try to post some new stuff (on the website) that is in the making for market – hopefully this week! We are branching out into purse design and that has been incredible! More mats and girly gear……..be sure to check out our adorable model Avery who just turned four when it's posted!
More news!
We had a blast in Portland at the Northwest Sewing Expo! Getting there though, not so fun! Check out this picture of my car getting towed! I even kicked the tire I was so mad! The good news is Dave came to our rescue, the car was fixed in 45 minutes and Dave helped us set up! It was an alternator, for anyone who cares to know – that is a detail I’d just a soon forget! With all of that behind us, we had a great time, a wildly successful show, and have already signed up to go back to Portland next year!
Bummer!
Portland
We also got in to Sew Expo next March in Puyallup! We’ve always heard that someone has to die to get in (that is a dark humored joke after all - and we believe no one actually kicked the bucket on our account – thank goodness!) We just had all the right products and gear for a successful show – so we are in! Can’t wait!
I am still planning on creating a category for floor mat tips and tricks on our website so don’t give up on me – we have been too darn busy lately! That’s a good problem to have! I will get to it by the end of the year.
Also we had a grand time at The Quilted Strait in Port Gamble a few weeks back. We demonstrated floor mats and enjoyed spending time with our new friends at that fabulous store! Be sure to check them out if you are in the area. And Judy Smith was the lucky winner of the floor mat we made that day. Judy shared with me that it was her birthday that day so that must have been why she won! Thanks again to everyone who stopped by!
We are heading to The Needle and I in Everett on November 13th for another demo day. Look for us there!
In the meantime, with so little on my plate, I’ve started a writing class at the University of Washington. “You’ve got to make hay while the sun shines” and the empty nester I’ve become can do it all! It’s a great time of life! Talk to you after the show!
