Pattern of the Month Highlights

Introducing our newest pattern called Winslow Wallet. We know, we know, there are lots of wallets out there. What makes ours different? We tailored it exactly to what we need, a place for cash separate from credit cards and punch cards. A coin purse. Simple and efficient, and oh, so easy to sew! We made 17 during the holidays. Really. Order this pattern today. You will be glad you did! BGQ1201

A 4th of July of B-R-R-R-R!

So the east coast was having a heat wave but the Seattle area was cold over the fourth!  B-R-R-R-R!  Hardy souls we are and had fun anyway!  Here are pictures provided by Laura of her boating excursion into Poulsbo to watch the fireworks from their boat with lots of family and friends.

 parade of boats Dinghy Parade!

Laura's boat "Kids" on the boat - looks nice but it's cold!

fireworks Laura caught this with her new camera!

Here is the cabin all dressed up for the fourth!  My sister-in-law always decks everything out beautifully!

cabin 4th Not bad for a 1930's old cabin!

Here is the eagle that hangs around.  Two pictures – one of the eagle on my brother-in-law’s boat and one in the tree over Laura’s house.  Laura captured these photos – one through binoculars – don’t ask me how that was done!

eagle 2 Laura couldn't get him to look this way!

Now here is a picture of Italian Night on the 3rd!  Boy did we have fun!  The table was made by Dave’s grandfather and looked spectacular thanks again to my sister in law!  We had Italian music – does Volare ring a bell?  And we had drippy candles, Italian wine – Mojitos (not Italian but oh, so good!) and Italian Sodas for the kids!  What a great idea to feature a country and plan a meal– I highly recommend it.  Next up for us with be food from Mexico!  Stay tuned!

I didn’t get much done in the studio, as you can imagine but I have one week left from my illustration class and have been working furiously on the “dummy” or mock book format.  See picture below.

So after this week it will be back in the studio and rolling up my sleeves for more work in the pattern design and sewing department.  We are really going to focus on getting new designs done for market in the fall.

I will leave you with a few garden pictures.  One from Laura – just darling – I may have to paint it!  Also here are a couple of pictures of my green peppers and tomatoes that are doing really well despite the cooler than normal temperatures around here.

 Laura's Garden Laura's deck flowers

Peppers Peppers (baby size!)

Tomatoes Two small ripening tomatoes!

Have a great week!
