Pattern of the Month Highlights

Introducing our newest pattern called Winslow Wallet. We know, we know, there are lots of wallets out there. What makes ours different? We tailored it exactly to what we need, a place for cash separate from credit cards and punch cards. A coin purse. Simple and efficient, and oh, so easy to sew! We made 17 during the holidays. Really. Order this pattern today. You will be glad you did! BGQ1201

Holiday Weekend = Stuffing, Painting, Eating & Fun

First of all, Memorial Weekend is a time to reflect on what our enlisted, past and present, mean to all of us here in the United States and the world.  Thank you to all of those serving and for those who have served.  Thank you to the families of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.  Our love and appreciation know no boundaries.

Memorial Weekend is also the unofficial kick off to summer!  Here in the Northwest this year it was rainy.  Now if you are me, you are extremely grateful for the rain.  Here is why.

We are still digging out from Minneapolis International Quilt Market.  Dog Leashes “101” sold beyond our wildest dreams!  And the floor mat patterns are positively flying out the door!  That means stripping the Multi Purpose Cloth into strips – TONS OF THEM!  I was calling my husband “THE STRIPPER” – bless his soul!  He cut for hours this weekend!  If it hadn’t been raining, he would have had a hard time being inside.  Love the rain!  Check out the picture:

All of our family was out this weekend and staying in the cabin.  We made an assembly line for stuffing patterns.  Don’t you just love and appreciate family?  I certainly do!

Even the dogs were involved.  Here is dear Chamois, not really helping, but not interfering either!  She takes a great nap!

Now the other thing I was busy doing was painting a chair.  My 88 year old friend Ted asked me to paint one for his garden.  He had a list of what he wanted on it and it was no small order.  Moles -he doesn’t like them so he wanted to be able to sit on them in the seat of the chair.  Heck, I didn't even know what a mole looked like!  Thank goodness for the internet!  Also requested:  a wren, a hummingbird, ants, earthworms, fireflies, a ladybug, and a frog.  I am not quite done but here are some pictures.

Here are the patterns we were getting ready to ship lining the walls of my house!  This is a tiny fraction of what we had going.

 Orders

We had a delicious barbequed salmon dinner Saturday night and hamburgers the next – hamburgers are redefined these days as we have meat eaters, fish eaters, and vegetarians so Dave barbequed ground beef, salmon patties, spicy bean patties and vegan soy patties!  Everyone was happy.  And the fruit was wonderful.  Blueberries, melons, strawberries, raspberries – YUM!

In the midst of all this Laura and Jon were hosting 18 kids from the University of Oregon.  I don’t have any pictures but in between constantly feeding all these kids, Laura was madly printing patterns!  We realize this is an extremely good problem to have so there was never a dull moment for either of us this weekend!  We hope you had time for some family, friends, good food, and laughter – oh, and maybe a little more rest than us!  Take care!

So I’m a day late in posting.   I plan to be on track next week!  Have a great one!
