Pattern of the Month Highlights

Introducing our newest pattern called Winslow Wallet. We know, we know, there are lots of wallets out there. What makes ours different? We tailored it exactly to what we need, a place for cash separate from credit cards and punch cards. A coin purse. Simple and efficient, and oh, so easy to sew! We made 17 during the holidays. Really. Order this pattern today. You will be glad you did! BGQ1201

The New Year Is Upon Us

Posted by beachgardenquilts on Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

With the holidays winding down and the new year upon us, welcome to 2010 and Lynnette's first ever blog!  I promise to share some interesting tidbits about what we are up to in the quilting world, travels to spring and fall market, and a little slice of family and friends.  I do love to write so why not blog!

As a mother of a recently graduated college student, high school senior, and new participant of the 50-and-over-club (my birthday falls near Christmas), 2010 promises to be quite a year!

Bloggers and non-bloggers alike, join me as I jump in over-my-head!  My sister Denise, who I swear is a Erma Bombeck runner-up, sent me a singing card for my birthday that opened to "We are Family"  and of course there were all kinds of digs about the big 5-0!  She drew a picture of a stick figure (did I mention that I am the artist in the family?) walking up a steep mountain with 50 at the very top.  Then it was all arrows leading down to the bottom.

At first I took that to mean it's all downhill from here.  Yikes!  Then I thought about it some more and I'm thinking hey, it's a heck of a lot of work to make it to the top of that darn mountain!  The view at the top (50!) is amazing!  I will enjoy it this year!  The real nugget though, from this simple cartoon drawing, is that the very best part is the downward side of the mountain!  Think about it!  Soon to be empty nester, terrific hubby, great friends, travel.  Heck, I'm just getting to the best part!  Can't wait!  So yes, I am looking over the peak!  Join me as I am soon to fly down the mountain laughing and singing (husband Dave in tow), oh, and quilting the entire way!  Happy New Year!
